Mt. Laoshan is located about 30 km from Qingdao, overlooking the Yellow Sea to the east. Over millions of years, Laoshan was formed out of the sea, with the highest peak, JuFeng, rising 1132 metres above sea level. Laoshan is now a top scenic spot in China, yet it retains a certain feeling of relative quiet that is not commonly found in China nowadays. There are lots of walking trails to explore, but many of them requires a good level of fitness. Do give at least a day or two to explore the Laoshan scenic area.
